The Cool Aid Community Health Centre and Dental Clinic and AIDS Vancouver Island serve thousands of individuals every year who have not been helped elsewhere; providing an interdisciplinary approach to primary health care.

The ACCESS Health Centre will welcome all individuals and will have the capacity to offer care for more clients. Peer support, counselling, health and medical support, and gender-specific services for women will be increased and improved.

Support will be offered to help marginalized individuals integrate into society, dramatically improving each person's life - and the quality of life in our community.

Primary Health Care

Primary Health Care aims to make health care universally accessible to our most vulnerable citizens at a cost the community and country can afford. Primary health care combines personal care, including continuity of care, with health promotion, education and the prevention of illness. A strong primary health care system is fundamental to reducing health care inequalities in the community.

Meaningful community involvement is key in the planning, implementation and maintenance of health services and is a fundamental component of primary health care.
