The ACCESS Building

Located at 713 Johnson Street in downtown Victoria, British Columbia, the three-storey, heritage building that will house the ACCESS Health Centre has a long, rich history. When converted it will contain the following services:

1st Floor

New home of Cool Aid Community Health Centre's physicians, nurses, pharmacy and counselling services. The Health Centre, which has an interdisciplinary approach to primary health care, will also be an entry point for specialized health services at the ACCESS Health Centre. With greater space and a central location the Cool Aid Community Health Centre will be a hub of activity and a cornerstone service in the efforts to improve the health of those most in need in Victoria.

2nd Floor

The partnership floor will house the the Cool Aid Dental Clinic and service providers who will connect those clients who are often hardest to reach with the services they need. Agency partner VIHA Mental Health and Addictions will connect with other providers to provide comprehensive, cross-service care.

3rd Floor

New home of AIDS Vancouver Island. On this floor, AVI will house their prevention, health promotion and support programs, as well as their administrative team. Here, HIV clients will meet with peers or counsellors, eat a hot meal and talk about their challenges. The space will be safe and private place where some of Victoria's most marginalized individuals can meet with staff and be heard.
