On March 5, 2009, the City of Victoria approved a $50,000 grant for the ACCESS Health Centre downtown, in addition to a 50% property tax reduction for 2009. The grant will cover the building, plumbing, and electric permits required for the renovations. Councillors also voted to send a letter to other local municipalities reminding them of the clinic, which will offer services to people from all municipalities, encouraging them to support it financially.
